Time Out For Meme XP

Not a picture, but this is something Spirit says is fun to do, so I'm giving it a whirl^^

What's the last thing you wrote?

In addition to this a blog followed by a pretty drawing of an elf...drawing.
Or do you mean stories? well, I have times that my original stories are #1 then I'll be brooding over a fanfic I want to write... I think the last thing i wrote was fanfic.

Was it any good?

I won't know till I post it, then afterward I'll be going back to my own stories ^^

What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?

Umm, alot of what I write today is a reincarnation of things from the past, but i think one that still bounces to it's own theme would be one about four kids who go on constant misadventures until one of them finds out shes a reincarnate of an ancient demon. I was like thirteen then, so I began my writing at a late age. XP

Write poetry?

It knocks every now and then^^

Angsty poetry?

once or twice but they hardly counted as angst.

Most fun character you ever wrote?

I think in a recent story of mine my fav character was one I called Wizard Grai, a surly hermit that fumbles his magic and gets the rest of the characters in trouble when he tries 'helping' them. Example: The group had to get somewhere fast and Wizard stepped in to make a portal for them and the end result wound up sending the main character into the future XP.

Most annoying character you ever wrote?

A character named Dominic Bingo. A wannabe reporter/journalist in a resort town my characters come across in their quest. He was based off of someone I detested at my workplace...

Best plot you ever wrote?

Well, it began when i was sewing vests at work, My character, Raewyn ends up on a crazy journey to confront pirates who kidnapped his mother over a weapon that belonged to his father, and he doesn't know he's part of an ancient myth long forgotten. I felt compelled to continue this one for reasons not even I'm aware of since in the past I usually sat all my ideas on a shelf waiting for something better to bloom, so this plot took me by surprise!

Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?

Well, I don't want to give away too much, but said character finds out theres more to his journey than he thought and that he and others are reincarnates of powerful gatekeepers to a secret land only inhabited by the dead. Also the enemy aiming to destroy the planet to be free is also a goddess who had a hand in creating the world they live in.

How often do you get writer's block?

....*shakes head* don't even jinx...

How do you fix it?

I let my fingers do the talking on the keyboard at random ^^

Do you type or write by hand?

I get into more detail when I write but get me on the keyboard and the ideas write themselves! XD

Do you save everything you write?

...Guilty. This includes drawings too, so I'm up to my muses in reference XP

Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?

No, no abandonment! my ideas make themselves useful whenever it's convenient^^

What's your favorite thing that you've written?

any moment in my stories where I get to embarrass my main characters^^

What's everyone else's favorite thing that you've written?

I tend to be a backward trend setter, so catching on to whats hip and now fails me sometimes^^ I'd follow the beat of a stick hitting a bucket rather than real drums XP

Do you ever show people your work?

Only my fanfiction XP. I'd love to show people more originals, if I ever get my lazy sibling to pay attention, so for now I am content that my very best friend said she could if i ever needed it ^^

Who's your favorite constructive critic?

SpiritXD

Did you ever write a novel?

The only one I think is breeching the staple of notes is the one with Raewyn, so it's a start^^

Have you ever written fantasy, Sci-fi, or horror?

To say fantasy is not one of my genre choices would be blasphemy! sci-fi not too much, horror? ...once i believe.

Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?

Of course, it's every writer's stepping stone in some instances^^

What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?

personally I'd like to include a little bit of each in every story i write, but i think I'll leave anything non fiction alone because it is way too time consuming for all the other things I'd like to write about^^

How many writing projects are you working on right now?

Currently I'm like the kid in the candy store who won't stay in one place, its either fan made or original^^

Do you want to write for a living?

As much as I'd be inclined to, I see myself also creating comics as well, so it's a double edged sword for me^^

Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?

no, it would be nice though...

Have you ever won an award for your writing?

just an editors choice for a poem written over the internet, 'Rain in Waiting' I think it was called...

Ever written something in script or play format?

My whole journey into writing began with script before i gradually included words and scenery.

What is your favorite word?

PEEP ^^

Do you ever write based on yourself?

Maybe but my themes are so sublime I can't tell^^

Which of your characters most resembles you?

I want to think one of them would be Raewyn since he tends to be shy sometimes, then Anriel, a character who travels with him. She has a hidden complex about herself that makes her feel like she has to be strong to cover up her fears. And because she has the same attitude I have in stubbornness.

Where do you get ideas for your characters?

I have a couple of them still sitting and twiddling their thumbs waiting to have a life as I type... but honestly I have no clue, they're like my children so dose it matter?

Do you ever write based on your dreams?

Once, it wound up being a history prologue story to a more serious piece I still have yet to baby.

Do you prefer happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?

Cliff hangers are essential, leave you wanting more, and that makes a story progress nicely. Although I'm more one for happy endings^^

Have you ever written anything based on an artwork you've seen?

Did did and DID! Art is great when you need to visualize something you want to write badly enough^^ Once I remember writing a comic based on inspiration from a book I read and that wound up becoming it's own story if that makes any sense XP!

Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?

kinda but i wait till I go through the writing part to worry about it later^^

Ever write something entirely in chatspeak?

...chatspeak is not really something that belongs in a story, just my opinion but that would take away quality.

Does music help you write?

I am listening to music as I type now, so I'd say yes, without a doubt^^

Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?

Not sure, most know I draw but writing is still something I'm gradually letting people closest to me observe.

Quote something you've written:

Kay, but it's random;the intro to my story. can't say i didn't warn you...

Ch.1, Opening A Cage of Worms.

“NOOOO!!!”

Yes I understand this is an unusual phrase to open up a book to, just imagine what it would be like for a moment to hear that yelled out loud?
This is what Raewyn Brackett heard early one morning. Only it came from his own mouth.
He had woken up from seeing his own death, with people he never seen before all around him. Yet what he was unaware of was that this would be a boding he would remember almost half a year later.

For now let’s delve into half a year earlier and see how this came about.

Green Pass- Day 10- Year 1240; Era of The Changes.

Location: Continent of Lanfire- Area: Parlay Hills- Village: Episode- Specifically: A young man’s bedroom.

Raewyn Brackett breathed deeply, his heart bouncing off his ribcage as if it demanded to come out and see the world. He gazed around the dim light to find he was still in his room where he’d gone to bed last night, messy in a few places but not so that it was an eyesore. Alright maybe the scattered pieces of what was once his dog’s chew toy was a bit much, but still…
Except in his mind’s eye he didn’t his room, but that cold stony place where he’d witnessed his own death. Flashing lights followed with sharp blasts of explosions and screams that echoed in the din of it all. Clearly he’d heard his name being called, it was what made his heart act the way it had. Raewyn knew he was dreaming, yet the voice seemed so real that it had frightened him.
“That better have not been a ’no’ I heard just now.” Said an unusually calm voice. He looked at his bedroom door to see his mother peek inside. “Don’t think that you can sleep in just because it’s a festival week- Raewyn? Are you feeling alright?”
Ahhh, it was his mother, Patricia’s voice he’d heard.
Before he could finish his reassurances his mother was already in the room, her long brown hair already tucked into a ponytail at this hour. “Your not getting sick are you?” “I’m fine, mom.” He said, already moving to get up and out.
“Well, I have every right to be concerned when my son wakes up after eleven in the morning.” Raewyn blinked. How could that be? The sun wasn’t even high enough to-
Raewyn had to shield his eyes the next second. His mother strode across the room while he was brooding and pulled the curtains aside to reveal a very bright world outdoors.

Strictly Drawings?

I have so much thanks to give to Spirit it isn't even remotely funny! As soon as i can unpack my scanner I got drawings up the wazoo to make and give her^^

Speaking of which I decided since i already have one shared blog with fanfiction i might leave the Candybowl open for pure art and dojinshi goodness^^ Sound scary? Don't be, it's harmless they won't bite...

muchXP

Since Spirit already displayed the nice pic I made her I wish to commemorate this blog with a picture i reciently rendered with a digital backdrop since i got too lazy to make one with markers and what not... one of the downsides to being in a moving from town to town transaction is your things get scattered so damn easy T~T

Tada! thats one so far... just a million more to go^^

A Very Special Thank You First Post ^^

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Hello to whomever may have stumbled upon this goofy little page. I'm Keiyou and this is my blog^^ As a newbie in the world of blogging don't expect too much brilliance in reading this, only know that there is one more person online making themselves look silly for the hell of it because she can^^

Right now I'm undergoing a transition in my life where I'm living with my brother and a couple other guys trying to make it in T.C. where I have hopes of going into collage for writing and art. While it may be a difficult path I know that I have a very good friend that is there for me as I would be there for her, so things slowly work out for the both of us^^

Some intro, but it means something to me and I wouldn't have it if it wasn't for Spirit^^ Thank you so much for everything!!!
